The MFBA members and friends went to Eastbourne to watch this year’s World’s biggest seafront air show in the world “Eastbourne Airshow 2010”. This is the second year that the MFBA organised this project. Although this time it is only one bus (74 capacity) was hired compared to last year’s three buses.
The Airshow is 4 days event full of action packed flying, the MFBA's and friends decided to go on the last day, which is Sunday, as this is the most exciting day of the event.
The bus arrived at the seafront around 10.30am and everybody was excited to see the Red Arrows zoom to the skies and do their acrobatic acts most especially. But because the Airshow will start at 12noon, some members went to the town centre to do shopping and to get to know more about Eastbourne. One of our member say if you intend to go and wander round the trade stands on Eastbourne’s Western Lawns you will get a chance to talk to pilots and crewmembers.
At lunchtime, it’s like a picnic as most of the members bring their own food and shared to others and eats beside the seashore while waiting for the show. So for the meantime we were just watching those thumping waves from the English Channel while having lunch.
Finally the show started with the Brietling Wingwalkers followed by the aerobatic display of The Blades. We also saw the F16 Fighter Plane flown by the Belgian Air Force. Also in the show were the Eurofighter Typhoon F2, Hawk T1, RAF Sea King, RAF Tucano and of course the Red Arrows and many more.
The show finish at 5pm and the last act was the aerobatic display of the Princess of Wales Tigers Parachute display team. This Airshow is another brilliant project organised by MFBA and a wonderful experience for all of us. Everyone seems tired and worn-out but you can see that they did enjoy the show and happy to be part of it. Well-done Mitcham Pinoy
