March 2, 2010; The MFBA held their first ever general election in Vestry Hall, 336-338 London Road, Mitcham, Surrey CR4 3UD. Mr Ronald Dalida was elected as President. He made a historical event to become the first elected president of MFBA. Mr Dalida also serves as president during the transition period.
Also elected were Andrea Colquhoun, VP External Affairs; Jess Magdaong, VP Internal Affairs; Liza Gay Ferreol, Secretary; Rommel Balacanao, Asst Secretary; Cecile Batallones, Treasurer; Lourdes Pearce, Asst Treasurer; Romy Zalameda, Valerie Militante, Virgie Corpuz and Priscilla Rebelo-Jones are the PRO’s; the Business Managers are Noli Nicolas, Lloyd Mujer, Jaysson Crussis and Cres Arguelles; Ulysses Peralta, Auditor; Roger Ferreol, Asst Auditor.
The officers’ oath taking ceremony took place after the election and inaugurated by D.R.I.P. Manager Ms Jennifer Mintah-Sem.
The purpose of the election is to create one body to represent Filipino residents in the community's cultural and socio-economic activities. There were projects in 2009 that we have done during the Interim period and they were all very successful. The 2010 election was administered by the MFBA members headed by Election Officer Mrs Myra Peralta in compliance with the By-laws Article 5, Section 5.2.
