April 4, 2010; MFBA celebrated "Happy Easter" in Kew Gardens, Richmond. The group get involved in a host of fun activities for all the families from exploration, discoveries, walks and tours, food and drinks, etc.
Inspite of the bad weather conditions, the MFBA still managed to go to Kew Gardens through convoy and others used to commute. While traveling, everybody seems excited and could not wait to explore the gardens, enter the glasshouses, sightseeing landscapes and discovered the fascinating insight of Palm House and Princess of Wales conservatory where you can find collections of different plants and tropical trees from around the world.
Upon arriving in the Gardens, immediately most of the groups took part in the annual event Easter Egg Hunt and claim their prize, others watched the very entertaining puppet show.
Much more, the kids played around Tree House Towers, a newly added features in the Gardens where kids climb up ladders, brave the wobbly rope bridges, scramble through nets, fly down zip wires and slide down one of the three towers. Others get their face painted with various designs to choose from of their favourite animals.
During midday, the MFBA members and friends were regrouped and stayed at Orangery restaurant and have lunch. After lunch the group continued the exploration till 5.30 in the afternoon. By then we called it a day, what a lovely and fascinating experienced the MFBA will never forget.
Celebrating Easter is a major tradition of Filipinos and each province in the Philippines has its own way to observe Holy Week (Semana Santa). We, MFBA observed happy easter our own way by bringing our families together, let our kids have some fun and reunite the Filipino communities in and around Mitcham.
Celebration of happy easter in Kew Gardens as part of the 2010 activities MFBA planned is a major success. Mabuhay ang Mitcham Pinoy and more power!!! |
