In support to our well-celebrated Filipino tradition of Barrio Fiesta and the 111th Philippine Independence Day, the Mitcham Filipino-British Association (a.k.a. “MFBA” or “Mitcham Pinoy”) have converged and joined our Kababayan from different parts of United Kingdom at Morden Park, Morden, Surrey, UK on 06 June 2009.
The weather that day may not be great but it did not stop us and our Kababayan from celebrating our Filipino culture with foods, entertainments, cultural presentations and funfares.
Headed by Kuya Ronnie Dalida we installed a tent beside the Kusinang Munti food stall with the permission of the owner Mr Venerando Bermudez and wife Ofelia, who are also members of the association.
It was not just a time of regular monthly meeting, but it was also a fun and bonding moments among members of the newly organised Mitcham Pinoy. We also cease the opportunity to introduce our group to other Filipino organizations and individuals who leaves within Merton area. During the event, new members were signed up and expressed their intention to be part of our activities.
The Barrio Fiesta in Morden ended on the same day, but one thing I am sure of, is that the friendship and unity among us will not end from there, but this is just the beginning of exciting, fruitful and long-lasting relationship among our Kababayan in Mitcham!!!!
Welcome to the new members and well done to Officers and members of the Mitcham Filipino-British Association. |
