HISTORY
 

The Mitcham Filipino-British Association (a.k.a. “MFBA” or “Mitcham Pinoy”) is a gathering of Filipinos living in Mitcham, Surrey, United Kingdom thru the spirit of unity and togetherness.

Formed in December 2008 as a community organisation, solely independent and non-party political, non-sectarian and non-discriminatory on any social ground. The bonding practice were implemented and developed when at the same time preserving the unique character of Filipinos living in UK. Few weeks later, the organisation gained momentum and soon took on a note. New officers, committees and representatives were appointed and the community decided to join in.

It started when a small group of Filipinos (the Pillars) decided to create an organisation that would embody a genuine culture of unity. They conducted series of sessions to discuss and undertake the aspects of implementing such as participating in the community's social and cultural events, getting involve in all sorts of charitable activities in the UK and in the Philippines, promote sports and education, youth development, etc.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1. To unite all Filipinos living in Mitcham, Surrey, UK
2. To preserve the tradition and culture of the Philippines whilst remaining
    to adopt British way of life
3. To integrate ourselves into the community as a whole
4. To maintain good relationship with different organisations and agencies
5. To facilitate charity drive for the benefit of those people who are less fortunate
